Questions
What time zone is a point in the United States in?
Click the county on the map. The answer uses the IANA zone from timezone-boundary-builder and the clock that zone keeps in 2026, including whether it observes daylight saving time.
Which states do not observe daylight saving time?
Hawaii does not. Most of Arizona does not, except the Navajo Nation. The western Aleutians use Hawaii-Aleutian time but do observe daylight saving time, unlike Hawaii.
Is the county color the legal time zone?
Legal standard time is set by Congress and drawn in 49 CFR Part 71. This site samples Census county outlines against the timezone-boundary-builder polygons. Where a line cuts through a county, the page says so instead of painting the whole county as one answer.
